About Gwiz

gWiz is a MC/Producer/DJ originating from Mount Vernon, NY. Music has been a major part of his life, but it was not until 2004 that he decided to take it seriously. gWiz first started making beats for his friends before he picked up the mic. In 2005 gWiz started writing and making songs of his own. He completed his first CD/mixtape on his own during that time titled “Eighties Baby” which gained some recognition from local people. In 2006 he finished his second CD “Up In The Sky” that clearly showed the progression of a serious MC and Producer. gWiz went on to produce for other local artist in New York and also in Boston. He has performed at many talent and fashion shows that have exposed him to some new opportunities. Most recently gWiz has dropped his third CD titled "Higher Learning" and has been featured on many local DJ's mixtapes. gWiz is different than most rappers that you hear nowadays. gWiz gets his point across in his songs without cursing or degrading anybody. His music is about addressing issues of his people, his community and giving inspiration to those with tough times. He loves to be able to talk to people and be one of the few positive voices out there. gWiz has "Musik"! that needs to be heard, the sky is the limit.
